Yeah, I'm not really a spreadsheet pro, but I bet there are lots of other cool things you can do if you know your way around Excel or Google Sheets. Thanks for reading!

A nice way to see this data is to use a cumulative approach so you can even out spikes over time and compare the email volume with metrics like Sent/Open/Click.

Great finding your post, Brett!

Have you run into issues with the Email Conversion Report not carrying campaign email data? I tried this technique to find the historical open rates over a specific time period. Some of my email sent volumes are less than 10% of what it should be.

Thanks!

Right on, glad I could help. Infusionsoft usually has the data, but the hard part is learning how to get it out of Infusionsoft and into something like Excel so that it makes sense.

Hey Brett, This is bada$$. I've tried all kinds of workarounds for this and this is the best I've seen yet that lets you work with historical data. Thanks for the insights.

Hey Brett,

Great stuff! I agree with Jarrod, definitely needed in the space. I also, agree that email isn't dead but up until now it's been frustrating for marketers to see 70+% of their emails not getting opened. Thankfully, with the CRM retargeting doors opening via Facebook, Twitter, Google and many others to come you can now get more of your emails opened, increase email engagement, and ultimately get your offers and content in front of your email list even if it isn't via the inbox. Check out what Kim Snider and I put together over at SyncSumo. It will likely help you and your clients get more from their email lists. Also, Facebook Lead Ads integration will be included in a few weeks.

Again, thanks for addressing this topic as it's an area of email marketing that not enough people are paying attention to.

Really terrific, Brett! This is an area that so many Infusionsoft users want to be able to get data easily. I am so intimidated by Excel - but you made it easy enough that I stuck with it :)

Is there any way that the same techniques can be used to isolate specific emails by campaign? The open and click through rates used to be accessible in the campaign builder but they were removed earlier this year. Thanks again for an incredibly valuable tutorial!

This video was super informative. Your excel skills are definitely unmatched by your average business owner so this was much needed ;)

Thanks for the Graphly plug - we're working on campaign builder reports as we speak and hope to have them available in the next 2-3 weeks. Outside of getting people out of spreadsheets, we're also looking to break down opens/clicks for every email in any sequence in any campaign, all sorted by various date ranges and additional criteria.

End Goal: Show people what parts of their sequences are converting so they can replicate that success and reveal which parts of their sequences are suffering and need immediate repair. We do a lot of testing, and see lots of data as I know you do. It always blows my mind what a few small tweaks to subject lines and calls-to-action can do for a funnel.

We'll also be showing insights like which email was the last email opened/clicked prior to a purchase. Attribution tracking, etc.

Keep the blog posts and videos coming. Your expertise is invaluable.
